The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested three individuals in Abuja following a false alarm regarding the disappearance of a man’s genitals, which led to an act of jungle justice.
The Commissioner of Police for the FCT, Mr. Garba Haruna, made this announcement while addressing the press in Abuja. He explained that the suspects were apprehended on October 15 after a distress call reported that Alhaji Tijani Yakubu of Kabusa village was about to be lynched by angry youths.
The alleged reason for this attack was an accusation against Yakubu, suggesting he was responsible for the disappearance of Emmanuel Danladi’s male organ. Police officers from the Kabusa Division quickly intervened and rescued the injured victim.
Regrettably, Yakubu was pronounced dead by the attending medical doctor. However, the medical examination confirmed that Danladi’s male genitalia, which he had claimed was missing, was intact and functional.
Danladi, who raised the false alarm about his missing penis, is now in custody, along with two others who engaged in mob violence leading to Yusuf’s death.
In a separate incident, the Commissioner reported that police operatives arrested a suspected informant and logistics supplier to kidnappers on October 17. The Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the Command arrested this suspect based on credible intelligence. During the interrogation, the suspect confessed to being an informant and food supplier to the bandits operating in the Mpape, Bwari, and Byazhin areas of Abuja.
He revealed that he had been rewarded with a payment of N15,000 by the bandits for his assistance. The suspect is now cooperating with the police to track down other gang members at large. Additionally, he is a close associate of the wanted bandit leaders in the area, and the suspects will face charges in court upon the completion of the investigation.
