Police Arrest 953 Suspected Kidnappers and Armed Robbers in 10 Weeks

Amid the escalating incidents of kidnapping, particularly in the Federal Capital Territory, Inspector-General of Police, Olukayode Egbetokun, announced that the Nigeria Police Force apprehended 953 suspects within the past 10 weeks. Addressing a conference with strategic police managers in Abuja, Egbetokun highlighted the achievements, including the rescue of 134 kidnap victims and the arrest of individuals involved in armed robbery, rape, murder, and other criminal offenses. Noteworthy cases during this period include the apprehension of robbers responsible for the fatal Otukpo bank robbery and the interception of illicit arms intended for distribution to IPOB/ESN Camps.
