The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has arrested four suspects in connection with an alleged attempted murder in Ikot Asukpong Village, Uruk Anam Local Government Area.In a statement issued on Friday, Police Public Relations Officer Timfon John said the arrests followed a petition alleging attempted murder, malicious damage, and cult-related activities.
The suspects—identified as John Samson, Emmanuel Asuquo, Idorenyin Umoh, and Okon Akpan—were apprehended by operatives acting on intelligence.According to the police, one locally fabricated pistol and two long guns were recovered during the operation, which investigators say may be linked to the alleged offences.
The command said the situation in the area is under control, with security measures in place to prevent further disturbances. Police added that investigations are ongoing and that the suspects will be charged to court upon completion of inquiries.
The Commissioner of Police, Baba Azare, reiterated the command’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property, urging residents to provide timely and credible information to support crime prevention efforts.
