The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with the murder of a 25-year-old motorcycle rider, Dauda Manu.
In a statement released on Monday, the command’s Public Relations Officer, Ahmed Wakil, said the incident was reported on March 5, 2025, when a motionless body was discovered along Dosho Village, near Darazo, with multiple injuries.
“Upon receiving the report, a team of detectives, led by the Divisional Police Officer, visited the scene and evacuated the body to the General Hospital, Darazo, where a medical doctor confirmed the victim was dead,” Wakil said.
Investigation Leads to Arrest
According to the police, Dauda Manu was last seen on March 4, 2025, riding his Boxer motorcycle with two unknown men onboard.
As investigations progressed, the police arrested Yau Buba, 25, from Minchika Village, Darazo LGA, in Gombe State on March 21, 2025 in possession of the victim’s stolen motorcycle.
During interrogation, Buba confessed that he had bought the motorcycle for ₦250,000 from another suspect, Buba Muhammadu, who was also arrested.
Case Transferred for Further Investigation
Wakil confirmed that the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation, adding that the suspects will be charged in court once the investigation is concluded.
