Police Block Road to Kaduna Government House Following Violent Protests

By Milcah Tanimu

The Kaduna State Police Command has erected barricades along the road leading to the Government House in response to the violent aftermath of Thursday’s #EndBadGovernance protests and an attempted attack by hoodlums.

A heavy security presence, including police, civil defense, and state vigilance service personnel, has been established to prevent further disturbances and secure the area surrounding the Government House.

The police have urged protest organizers to coordinate with the Commissioner of Police to ensure that demonstrations remain peaceful.

State police spokesman Mansir Hassan condemned the violence, noting that hoodlums exploited the protests to cause chaos. These individuals attempted to breach the Government House, injuring two police officers, vandalizing a police armored vehicle, and attacking state government offices, including the Kaduna State Traffic Law Enforcement Agency (KASTLEA).

Twenty-five suspects were arrested with various weapons, including live ammunition, and some were found in police camouflage uniforms. The police have called on parents to keep their children from participating in acts of violence and disruption.
