Police Commissioner decorates 35 newly promoted senior officers in Delta

No fewer than 35 newly promoted officers of the Delta State Police command from the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police(DCP) to Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) were on Friday decorated to their new ranks by the state Commissioner of Police, CP Adeleke Adeyinka.

The 35 decorated officers were part of the 8, 916 nationwide newly promoted senior officers to next position by the Police Service Commission, in which Delta State has a good number.

Speaking during the decoration ceremony at the state Police Command in Asaba, CP Adeyinka commended the Inspector-General of Police and the Police Service Commission for the overall promotion.

Police Commissioner said the promotion was to spur the newly promoted senior police officers to greater heights, saying that their decoration is a ceremonial act.

He urged promoted officers to desist from bad act, as a way towards moving to the next level.

Responding on behalf of the newly promoted senior officers, DCP John Babangida expressed gratitude to the Inspector General of Police for making the decoration day a marvelous one for them.

DCP Babangida also thanked the state Commissioner of Police for his support, just as he called on his colleagues to see the promotion as a big challenge and call to work harder, and not to bring the profession down.

DCP Babaginda who was until his promotion, the Assistant Commissioner of Police(ACP), ACX-SQUAD, however dedicated his promotion to the glory of God.

The newly decorated senior officers were visibly happy as they smile and exchanged pleasantly among themselves and other officers.
