*Others escape with injuries, recover motorcycle – Police

Kaduna Police command said it has killed one bandit and recovered one operational motorcycle after a fierce gun battle with a gang on motorcycles in military camouflage uniform during patrol in Kaduna.
The command made the disclosure in a statement issued and signed by its spokesman DSP Mohammed Jalige. It also stressed that the incident occurred at Kidanda, Giwa local government of the state.
“On Sunday 7/5/2023 at about 10:30hrs, Operatives attached to 47 Police Mobile Force (PMF), deployed to Kaya on routine patrol along Fatika Road, sighted a gang of armed bandits riding on motorcycles, dressed in military camouflage.
“The gallant Operatives swung into action immediately, engaged the bandits in fierce gun duel and were given a hot chase in the process, one bandit dressed in military camouflage was neutralized, while others escaped with varying degrees of bullet wounds, with One bandits operational motorcycle was recovered”, it stated.
Meanwhile, aggressive patrols along the road have been intensified with a view to forestall future occurrence, the statement added.
The Commissioner of Police Kaduna State Command, CP MY. Garba commended the gallantry and professionalism exhibited by the personnel, urging them to sustain the onslaught against banditry and other forms of criminalities in the State.
