Jos Electricity Distribution Plc (JED Plc) says the recent decline in electricity supply across Plateau, Bauchi, Benue, and Gombe states is due to reduced power allocation from Nigeria’s national grid. The company’s spokesperson, Saratu Aliyu Dauda, disclosed this while speaking to journalists in Jos, explaining that the drop has limited the volume of electricity available for distribution to customers.
According to her, the situation is beyond the control of the distribution company, which relies entirely on power supplied from the grid. “The reduction in power supply is a result of decreased allocation from the national grid. As a distribution company, we can only distribute what is made available to us,” she said.
Dauda appealed to customers for understanding and patience, noting that JED Plc is engaging relevant stakeholders in the power sector to address the situation. She added that efforts are ongoing to improve supply stability across the company’s franchise areas. JED Plc reiterated its commitment to enhancing service delivery and assured customers that measures are being pursued to restore normal power supply as soon as possible.
