Aliyu Audu, the Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Public Affairs, has formally resigned from his position.
In a letter dated June 8 and submitted through the President’s Chief of Staff, Audu announced his immediate departure from the role. “I write to formally tender my resignation… effective immediately,” the letter read.
Audu expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for the opportunity to serve the country, describing the experience as an honour under the President’s “visionary leadership.”
He also extended appreciation to Ajuri Ngelale, the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, whose recommendation facilitated his appointment on August 26, 2023.
“It has been an honour to contribute to the public communication efforts of this administration,” Audu stated.
He concluded the letter by offering his “highest esteem” and continued prayers for the success of the Tinubu administration and Nigeria’s progress.
As of the time of this report, the Presidency has not issued an official response to Audu’s resignation.
