A pro-President Bola Ahmed Tinubu support group, Tinubu or Nothing 2027, has launched a National Identification Number (NIN) registration initiative in Plateau State, unveiling 40 NIN enrolment devices to boost access to national documentation and grassroots participation.The initiative was unveiled in Jos, alongside the presentation of 120 trained enumerators who will be deployed across Plateau State’s three senatorial zones to support community-level NIN registration.
Speaking at the event, the group’s Global Convener, Lapshak Yilwatda Goshwe, said the programme aims to promote inclusion by bringing NIN registration closer to underserved communities, particularly youths. He described the effort as supporting lawful civic participation and access to essential national services. Representing the APC National Chairman, Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda, Hon. Jibril Banchir said the initiative would also support the party’s efforts to build a credible and verifiable membership database. He emphasized that NIN registration is free and urged residents to avoid exploitation.
The Plateau State Government, represented by the Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Hon. Musa Ashoms, commended the initiative and announced a ₦1 million personal donation in support. Also speaking, the Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Daniel Nanlong Gapyil, described the project as impactful, noting that NIN is required for access to banking, telecommunications, passports, and government services. He announced a ₦6 million donation from the Assembly.The event ended with the symbolic activation of the devices, marking the start of NIN enrolment across the state.
