PROF. OGAR DAVID RESUMES AS AG. V/C IN CRUTECH

The C.R.S Governor Ben Ayade has appointed a new acting Vice Chancellor for the Cross River State University of Technology (Crutech).

Prof. Ogar David Obua is a Professor of forest economics and management in the faculty of Agriculture, Forestry and Wildlife Resources Management, University of Calabar, Calabar. He holds a Ph.D and M.Sc degrees In Forest Economics And Management from the University of Ibadan. Nigeria, in addition to a Bachelor degree in Forestry and Wildlife from the University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

He was a Sub-Dean, Faculty of Agriculture (2004-2006) and Head, Department of Forestry University of Calabar 2006-2008. Ogar is a full bright scholar and grantee of African Academy of Science. He has researched extensively in carbon stores in tropical rain forest and management rain forest and management among other.

He has successfully supervised several Ph.D, M.Sc and Undergraduate. He taught integrated conservation and development to the post graduate students at Brandeis University Massachusetts, USA. He was a consultant to FAO/Federal Ministry of Environment, USAID/Space, DFID/Cross River State forestry commission and Ford Foundation/NGST.

The new Ag. V/C is also an adjunct lecturer and a visiting scholar to the Department of Forestry and Wildlife University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

Prof. Ogar is an indigene of Otukpuru in Bekwara L.G.A, Cross River State. He is well known for his discipline, hard work and his penchant for excellence.

Until his appointment, he was the current Head of Department, Department of Forestry and Wildlife Resources Management, University of Calabar. He is married to Mrs. Paulina Oshama Ogar and the marriage is blessed with 3 children. It will be recalled that Daybreak scooped the story in the power tussle in appointing the new V/C for the institution 3 weeks ago.
