The General Manager of Radio Nigeria Highland FM Jos, Patience Jatau, has called for greater investment in the education and overall well-being of children. She made this appeal during the 2024 World Children’s Day celebration held in Jos.

Jatau hosted students from selected schools in an event supported by the United Nations Children’s Education Fund (UNICEF). She emphasized the importance of children, describing them as the “true essence of the future” and the “joy and heartbeat of today.”

In her remarks, she said:
> “Today, we gather here to celebrate the true essence of our future—our children. They are not just the leaders of tomorrow but the joy and heartbeat of today.”

She expressed gratitude to UNICEF for its support, noting,
> “Your dedication and generosity have brought this celebration to life, and for that, we are immensely grateful.”

Jatau also praised the contributions of teachers, parents, and caregivers in shaping young lives and urged stakeholders to collaborate for the betterment of children.
> “Let us all work together to build a brighter future for our children. By investing in their education and well-being, we are investing in the future of our state and nation.”

The event featured an interactive session with students and the distribution of educational materials, including books, math sets, and pencils.

As part of the celebration, the students paid a courtesy visit to the Plateau State Commissioner of Women Affairs, Hon. Caroline Dafur, further highlighting the significance of the day.
