*Calls for nationwide prayers

The former Nigeria minister of Youths and Sports Mr. Solomon Darlung Sunday evening led a delegations of Northern Nigerian Christian Clergies including women, to the resident of an Islamic leader, Shiekh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, in Kaduna state.
Darlong who was in company of other Christians clerics from various parts of northern states of Nigeria including Plateau, Bauchi, Katsina, Gombe, Taraba, Kaduna and Sokoto states, took part in the Ramadan iftar breaking of fasting.
According to him, the aim is to also strengthens Christians and Muslim relationship for peace and unity among Nigerians, and therefore called for more prayers from both Muslims and Christians clerics nationwide, and also appealed to the newly elected candidates to always unite the people and put the nation’s interest above in their hearts.
Darlong recalled that for the past 12 years, they have been coming from various states in the north to joined other top Islamic scholars towards breaking Ramadan iftar fast to promote peace and unity among diverse people of Nigerians.
Similarly, Pastor Yohanna Buru, who is the General Overseer of Christ Evangelical and Life Intervention Ministry, Kaduna said “this year’s Ramadan comes amidst of increased in cost of foodstuffs, scarcity of fuel and new naira notes palaver.
He said, ” We came with many Christians Clergies this time from our neighbouring states to strengthening good relationship with our brothers.
“We are one family under God,
we are all children of Adam and Eve, all have Holy Books, Qur’an and Bible, from one God. “We all believed in paradise and the day of judgement”, he said.
Pastor Buru said, Ramadan provide huge opportunities for Christian Clergies to meet, interact, dialogue with other top Islamic scholars on how to promote peace and provide enabling environment for both the adherence of different faith base organization in the country.
He said, they will keep praying for peace and unity in the country, and pray for Nigerian security personnel to succeed in tackling all the security challenges bedevilling peace stability in the country.
In his remarks, Shiekh Dahiru Bauchi expressed satisfaction for the visit and thanked all the Christian Clergies and youths that joined them in breaking Ramadan iftar on Sunday evening.
He also said, they’ll equally continue to pray for peace and unity in the country; and wish all the Christians that travelled from far away to come and joined him in breaking Ramadan fast, a safe journey back to their various destination.
The core essence of attending the interfaith Ramadan iftar fast, among other things, includes opportunity it offered to promote interreligious tolerance and mutual understanding between the adherence of different faith based organization in the country.
