Reps order immediate debt payment to servicom.

The house of Representatives on Tuesday has ordered the immediate payment to servicom the sum of #42 Billion being owed by the Nigerian banks.

The order came subsequent to a motion moved by Hon Ossai Nicholas Ossai, PDP -Delta State. He noted the negative impact of the non payment of the dept to banks and the masses subsequently.

“If the ussd service is disconnected, Nigerian banking system will fall back to analogous.”

Ossai also said that the services rendered by the telecom organization is so enomous and ought not to be owed.

Hon. (prince) Hakeem Adeyemi, APC -Oyo State, Chairman House committee on Telecommunications, contrubuting to the debate said “The telecom organization provided a platform for the banks to transact and the banks refuses to pay them their money.”

Hakeem vowed that the committee will ensure that Nigerians are protected.

“We will ensure that Nigerians are protected and the federal government will generate their revenue through these banks.”
