Residents, Religious Leaders Advised To Respect Rights Of Citizenry – Sokoto Zonal AIG

With reference letter dated 11/05/2021,the AIG zone 10 Police Headquarters Sokoto, Assistant Inspector General of Police AIG Ali Aji Janga has urged the commands under the Zone consisting of Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara States to employ all legal means to protect lives and properties of citizens, before, during and after the Eid-el-fitr celebrations.

The release by the Commands’ spokesman ASP Adamu Abbas further said the AIG advises Religious leaders to monitor the activities of their wards to ensure peace in their places of worships so that they may not engage in nefarious activities, predispose themselves to be used to cause mayhem in the community.

He advised that the celebration of Eld-il Fitr, be limited throughout the Zone in accordance with covid-19 precautions.

It also said residents are to respect the rights of other citizens, and warned that trouble makers not to test the collective will of the Zone, there shall be severe consequences for any persons or groups coming out to cause break down of law and order throughout the period and beyond.
