Rev. Amos Yohana takes over as Senator Adamawa North, as Court sacks Senator Abbo

Adamawa North Senatorial District is blessed with Rev. Amos Kumai Yohanna, a Theologian, and public servant as he takes over as the Senator of the Senator of Adamawa North Senatorial District following the sack of Senator Ishakun Abbo of APC.

Today the certificate of Return was presented to Rev. Amos Kumai Yohanna as he automatically becomes the Senator-Elect of Adamawa North Senatorial District following the landmark judgment of the Appeal Court Tribunal of Monday , 16th October, 2023 which sacked Senator Ishaku Abbo of the APC and Withdrawal of his certificate of Return.

Senator Rev. Amos Yohanna, the Senator- Elect is now the validly elected Senator of the Federal Republic, representing Adamawa North Senatorial District.

The Adamawa State has garnered his wealth of knowledge and experience from the various capacities he had occupied in the civil service and in the Theological sector.

Senator Amos Yohana’ s movement from church administration is not a surprise as he has served in many capacities both at the Federal and State levels from 2002 to 2021.

Lately Yohana was the Executive Secretary of the Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Adamawa State from 2002 to 2007, after which he was appointed the Chaplain, Adamawa State Government House from 2007 to 2010.

According to his pedigree, Yohana attended Yelwa Primary School, Mubi Adamawa State from 1969 to 1975, proceeded to the Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria, LCCN Bible College, Ganye Adamawa state in 1982 where he passed out in 1985 with a General Certificate of Education, GCE.

This Reverend gentleman obtained his oil from the Theological College of Northern Nigeria in 1988; an affiliate of the University of Jos where he meritoriously obtained his Diploma Certificate in Theology.

Rev Amos Kumai Yohanna had travelled to faraway Tanzania, East Africa in pursuit of Golden Fleece.

He attended the Makaumia University College, Tanzania in 1994 and by 1997 he bagged his Bachelor of Divinity Degree with honors.

As a man who loves education, he enrolled for his Master’s Degree in Theology in 2000, at the Theological College of Northern Nigeria, Jos and graduated in 2002 with specialization in Pastoral Theology.

Rev Amos Kumai Yohanna became the Pastor of the Church of the Brethren in Nigeria, Vimtim, Adamawa State from 1985 to 1987. He further had a stint as a lecturer at Kulp Bible College, Mubi, Adamawa State from 1991 to 1994 before he before Pastored The Church of the Brethren in Nigeria,Vonuklang, Yola Adamawa State from 1998 to 2000.

By divine intervention, he was appointed the Zonal Coordinator North East by the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission NCPC, an office he occupied till 2013 when he was elevated and appointed the Head of Administration of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission, NCPC headquarters, Abuja where he served with dignity and humility up till 2016.

As a goal getter and a selfless leader, while serving as the Head of Administration, he successfully within three months migrated the Commission from the traditional payment system to the Integrated Personnel Payroll Information System, PPIS.

He was born on 4th June, 1961 at Mubi North Local Government Area of Adamawa State, North East Nigeria.
