“Rivers State Government Refutes Claims of Aide Sacking and Local Government Chairmen Dismissals Amidst Political Turmoil

By Daniel Edu

The Rivers State government has categorically denied allegations that Governor Siminalayi Fubara dismissed some of his aides and all local government chairmen in response to the recent political unrest in the state. The Commissioner for Information and Communication, Warisenibo Johnson, released a statement on Tuesday clarifying that Governor Fubara had not issued any directive or taken such action. The rumors had circulated following shifts in the leadership of the House of Assembly and an attempted impeachment of the Governor by a faction of the House. Johnson emphasized that Governor Fubara is a staunch believer in democracy and operates within the confines of the law and moral principles. The Commissioner assured the public that any official decisions regarding personnel changes would be communicated in due course, urging people to disregard unfounded reports and await accurate updates on the situation.”
