Rotary Investiture marks Aisha Ali as 7th President Rotary Club CBD Abuja

Aisha Ali , civil servant in an investiture ceremony was crowned the seventh President of the Rotary club of Abuja, CBD.

The investiture ceremony held on Friday at New Chelsea Hotel, Central business District , Abuja attracted guests and members of the club, Philanthropists aming others.
The event was anchored by Rotarian Evelyn Oyinlo, an Ace Broadcaster and MC Enenche.

Outgoing and sixth President of Rotary Club CBD, Mr. Max Amuche , called for the observation of the Rotary four-way test read by Assistant District Governor , Anne Uche Obi.

The Rotary anthem and “Vive le Rotary” songs were taken led by Evelyn Onyilo and Alhaji Yusuf Alli. respectively as Certificates of merit were presented to members of the Abuja CBD by the outgoing President as his “last dance”.

Amuchie expressed deep gratitude to the club for the opportunity given him to serve as the sixth president of the club. He noted that Rotary Club was founded on the idea of service to humanity.
Amuche recounted that some of his achievement as a Rotary president include the building and commissioning of a block of toilet for a school that lacked toilets in a remote community, Gidan Gimba in Nassarawa State and an ongoing project for additional blocks of classroom for the school to augment the singular block of 2 classrooms they had.

He urged Aisha Ali as the seventh president of Rotary Club CBD to continue to build on such humanitarian projects, adding that determination is the antidote to the success of the tedious responsibility attached to the office.

Speaking on behalf of the special guest, Director-General, National Orientation Agency (NOA) Dr. Garba Abari, who was represented, Mr. Ogungbade, Kehinde eulogized the Rotary and called for more support for the club and its officials.
“If you are giving g out freely without some pains, it is not real.”

” We must live in peace while encouraging the act of giving. We must all encourage and support the incoming president. Aisha is my sister and I will support her to succeed, he emphasized.

Guest Speaker of the occasion, Dr. Pastor Betty Olutunde, represented by Gloria Lemmy Johnson spoke glowingly of the humanitarian agenda of Rotary and prayed that someday the Government will rise from an organization like rotary club.

In her acceptance speech, Aisha while appreciating the past presidents and especially her predecessor Max Amuchie whom she described as highly supportive and a strong pillar, also thanked members of the CBD for their continued support and doggedness.

She promised that her year as president would include increased humanitarian service and activities, members welfare and better participation in rotary district activities while fellowshipping with other Rotarians as well.

She charged members to show more dedication and commitment and called for prompt and early payment of dues .

There was also presentation of recognition awards to members who has distinguished themselves in their call to duty.
Award of Excellence was presented to the Corp Marshall of the FRSC, Corps Marshal Dauda Ali Biu FCA, CPA for Prudent Leadership, DG NOA, Dr. Garba Ali for Outstanding leadership, Senator Tanko Al-Makura for Humanitarian Service and Dr. Mrs Betty Olutunde for Outstanding Humanitarian service/Women Empowerment.

Others include, King Odeh Mohammed Adah Ochacho, Award of Excellence in Humanitarian Service, Executive Director News, NTA, Mr. Ayo Adewuyi for Professional Excellence in Journalism amongst others.

Rotary Oresi Aisha Ali inaugurated her board members as guests were treated to entertainment.

Aisha Ali, the new President Rotary Club of Abuja CBD, is the Assistant Chief Information Officer at the National Orientation Agency, NOA.
She joined Rotary Club in 2018, served twice as secretary during the connect and Change Maker year of the Club.

She also served as acting secretary during the trailblazer rotary year till a substantive secretary was elected

For the third time, served as director of several committees of the club
Ali is dedicated to humanitarian service, she is passionate about the eradication and control of Polio and is involved in various charity organizations. She is a Wife and Mother.
