The former Governor of Kaduna State and leader of People’s Redemption Party, PRP, Alhaji Balarabe Musa has called on Federal Government and independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to save Nigeria from anarchy by ensuring free and fair general elections during the 2019 polls.

The former governor made the call at his residence during the 2019 flag off campaign of Senator Shehu Sani’s Senatorial contest for Kaduna Central Zone on Tuesday amidst thousands of PRP supporters who stormed the residence.

administration.

the era of poor leadership under the All Progressive
Congress, APC, government in the State will come to an end in 2019.

Senator Sani promised to revive the age-long “Talakawa” “less privileged people” and progressive PRP, in Kaduna State, while unveiling his agenda to uplift the socio-economic status of the people in the State and Nigeria in general.

He said “In the coming senatorial contest in my zone, the battle will be between the good and the bad political forces and elements of retrogression who want to destroy our state.
“I am here in this house, the home of our leader and former Governor
of Kaduna State, Alhaji Balarabe Musa to declare my resolve to contest the 2019 election in Kaduna Central Senatorial zone again, and also inform you that I have represented you all in the zone in the National Assembly, and have added my contributions in the past three and half years in the upper chamber”, he said.

He also stated that it “is time that Nigerians should resist any attempt by the Governor to plant his stooges in the National Assembly who will be used as rubber stamp in actualizing his personal agenda and interest which will definitely set our dear State backward”, adding that “our past experiences in the past three years have shown that bad policies and programmes in the State have contributed negatively to the backwardness”.

“It is left for us to choose between the good and the bad or living
Egypt to the Promised Land or to remain in Egypt. The 2019 election is the only opportunity that we have to remove tyrannical leadership and
install a purposeful one. We should reject any plot to impose their
stooges and destroy our State”, he noted.

In his response, the PRP leader, Alhaji Balarabe Musa urged all the supporters of the party to come out massively in support of Senator Sani against his opponent, the APC Senatorial Candidate, Mallam Uba Sani in the forthcoming senatorial polls in the State.
According to Musa, “this is time to show the entire State and Nigeria that the PRP is still strong and relevant in the politics of the State and the country. We have to ensure victory for Senator Shehu Sani and defeat the candidate of the Governor”.

Musa also poured praises on the candidature of Senator Sani, saying that “ he has remained our person from childhood and his parents were also of NEPU and we must make sure that he represents use again in the Senate after the 2019 elections”.

Senator Sani chastised those who think they have dollars to spend in order to be in the Senate, insisting, Kaduna central is not for sale.
He further condemned the attitude of politicians who used the Senate as the retirement house of former governors or only their loyalists are the sponsor to the Senate.
“‘People need freedom, need representation that can stand for them at any time of the day, he declared.
Commenting further, he said that ‘APC has failed in Kaduna. Kaduna is ruled by one person. Kaduna is ruled by a tyranny. PRP ticket is not for sale but the party has people of proven integrity. ENDS
