Sallah: Senator Wamakko admonishes Nigerians to live in peace, be brothers’ keepers

The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Defence and Deputy Chairman, Senate Committee on Anti Corruption, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, has admonished Nigerians to strive to live in peace with each other, irrespective of any religious , political, cultural and ethnic affinities.

Wamakko who is alsobChairman of the Northern Senators Forum also appealed to the citizenry to sustain their centuries-old bonds of friendship, harmony and mutual coexistence.

Senator Wamakko, who represents Sokoto North Senatorial District, made these admonishments in his message to the Nigerian Muslim Ummah, to mark the Edi-el-Adha, 1441 AH.

According to him: ” We should also continue to be our brothers’ keepers, so as to collectively bolster peace, unity and the even socioeconomic development of the country .

” The Almighty Allah has created us in different ways, with varying potentials and faiths, cultures and ethnicities .

” But , our rich diversities should serve as our formidable unifying factors and not dividing ones. The Almighty Allah has not made a mistake by creating us together in Nigeria .”

On the raging global Corona Virus Pandemic ( COVID-19),Wamakko urged Nigerians to continue to pray fervently for urgent divine solutions, as well as strictly observe all the laid down protocols

Senator Wamakko urged,” Nigerians should continue to use face masks, wash their hands with soup regularly , use hand sanitizers , drink water regularly, as well as maintain social distancing, among others .”

On security, Senator Wamakko assured that, the National Assembly would continue to effectively partner with the other arms of government and the security agencies , to further secure the lives and properties of all citizens and residents of Nigeria.
