Screening and Registration of 460 Orphans Directed by Senator Wamakko Begins

By Muhammad Ibrahim, Sokoto

The screening and registration of 460 orphans across the 23 local government areas of Sokoto State is ongoing, with the team visiting Wamakko Local Government Area. In line with the directive of Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, orphans from Wamakko and Kware local governments were merged for the exercise.

As planned, each ward is expected to present 20 orphans for registration and screening ahead of a special Sallah package sponsored by Senator Wamakko.

The chairmen of the two local governments, Attahiru Ruggar Giwa of Kware and Ahmad Umar Dundaye of Wamakko, commended the initiative, describing it as part of the senator’s longstanding philanthropic efforts. They prayed for Almighty Allah to reward, guide, and support him in his endeavors.

Program coordinator Alhaji Bashar Muhammad described the exercise as smooth and hitch-free. His co-coordinator, Alhaji Almustapha Abubakar Alkali, noted that the initiative has been receiving widespread commendation.

The team will proceed to Yabo and Shagari local governments today, Saturday, to continue the registration exercise.
