Security Taskforce Arrests Armed Bandit, Shot Others In Kogi

Special Security Taskforce on Friday in Oke-Ere road arrested an armed bandit terrorizing Yagba West local government area of Kogi state, while four others escaped with bullet wounds during the operation.

It was gathered that they were attacking people and wanted to abduct some people as usual when they were engaged in cross fire by the security agents along the Oke-Ere road in Yagba West local government area.

In a release made available to Journalists in Lokoja on Friday by the Senior Special Assistant to the Chairman on Media and Publicity, Mr. Toba Abraham stated that the Chairman of Yagba West Local Government Council, Hon. Pius Kolawole has recorded another breakthrough in his fight against crime and criminality.

This according to him was sequel to the arrest of one of the armed robbery gang terrorizing the area by the ‘Special Security Taskforce’ set up by the chairman of Yagba West local council.

According to him, luck ran out of the bandits while attempting to kidnaped some people along Oke-Ere road of Yagba West when one of the victims who escaped to the nearby bush alerted the Special security Taskforce.

“With prompt response from the security squad on regular patrol, arrested one of the gang members while the other four members escaped with gun bullets.

Some of the items recovered from the bandit are locally made AK 47 and revolver Pistol with life ammunitions.

It would be recalled that the Chairman of Yagba West Local Government Area recently constituted a ‘Special Security Task force’ with the mandate to flush out all criminals and bandits from Yagba West as herdsmen crisis, armed robbery and kidnappings across the country worsens.
