Senate president loses Senatorial seat to former state House of Assembly Member

The sitting Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki who flew the flag of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in last Saturday National Assembly election has lost his seat to the former Majority Leader in the state House of Assembly Dr Ibrahim Oloriegbe of the All Progressives Congress (APC)

The final result was officially announced yesterday at Independence National Electoral Commission (INEC) office located at Mandate area, Adewole Ilorin by the returning officer for Kwara Central Senatorial Election Professor Olawole Olatunbosun of the University Of Ilorin.

The APC candidate won all the four local government that makeup Kwara Central Senatorial district, namely Ilorin West, Ilorin East, Ilorin south and Asa with the total score of APC 123,808 and
PDP 68,994.

A breakdown of the result is as follows: Ilorin west; APC 51,531; PDP 30,075. Ilorin East: APC 30,014; PDP 14,654: Ilorin South: APC: 26, 331; PDP: 13,013. Asa: APC 15932; PDP 11252
