Senator Abba Aliyu Breaks Ground For APC Revalidation Exercise

By Muhammad Goronyo, Sokoto

The All Progressives Congress ( APC), will soon provide eighteen (18) million additional registration cards across Nigeria, for the ongoing nationwide Registration and Revalidation exercise.

According to a Member of the National Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, Senator Abba Ali while addressing newsmen during his visit to Sokoto.

Ali , who disclosed this to Newsmen in Sokoto, on Tuesday, after monitoring the exercise in Katsina, Zamfara, Kebbi and Sokoto States, also said that, the decision to provide the additional was sequel to popular demands .

Ali said : “About 180,000 Polling Units in the country, in the 8,812 Political Wards were given one hundred registration cards for the ongoing two weeks exercise .

” Happily, due to high demands and Nigerians, APC and non APC members were eagerly waiting to participate in the exercise , the cards finished on the day of the commencement of the exercise in some polling units.

” This informed the decision by the NEC to provide the additional cards and as we are speaking now, the cards are being printed .

” They will be distributed across the country, as soon as possible . So far, so good , as the exercise is going smoothly , with little hitches that had been surmounted .”

Ali, who is also the Head of the North -West Registrar and Revalidation Supervision, added that , the exercise was conceived as part of efforts to update the register of the largest Political Party in Africa, the APC.

According to the elder statesman , the exercise was also aimed at allowing Nigerians, who highly love, respect and cherish the party , to own it , hence make APC more Supreme .

He said :” The world is also in a digital age and the APC will not lag behind. We have to move with the time .

” We want the people to form the party , allow them to elect the leaders they like . This is the crux of this exercise .

” This is the dream of our National Leader , President Muhammadu Buhari and all of us .

” President Muhammadu Buhari is relentlessly working to take Nigeria to greater heights and that is why Nigerians have been enthusiastically willing to join the APC. “

Ali further noted that, the ongoing exercise was the beginning of many good things to accrue to Nigerians, including plausibly combating the myriad of security challenges in Nigeria .

The former Senator also submitted that, change takes time to be efficacious, saying ,” this exercise will help to bolster good governance in the country .”
