Senator Jang Not Against Atiku – Aide

Former Plateau State Governor, Senator Jonah David Jang is not against the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Aljaji Atiku Abubakar as misrepresented by a political lobby group in Plateau canvassing support for the PDP candidate.
According to a statement by the media aide to the former Governor, Clinton Garba, the Atiku support group is simply framing Jang by taking issues out of context by peddling a false impression that Senator Jonah Jang is not favourably disposed to the candidature of former vice president Aljaji Atiku Abubakar.

According to Garba, as a founding member of the Party, Jang is not only a stakeholder, but works very hard to ensure that the foundational principles of the Party, namely equity, fairness, and justice, continue to be the basis of the Party’s actions and activities.
The statement noted that in aligning with Governor Nyesom Wike’s demand that the national chairman of the PDP, Iyorchia Ayu, should resign in the spirit of fairness and geopolitical power balancing, Jang is simply upholding and reiterating the principle of fairness which is the predicate and fulcrum of the Party.

In as much as it is important to emphasize for the purpose of clarity that Jang is not against the candidature of Atiku Abubakar, his stand and call for Iyorchia Ayu to resign as national chairman of the PDP remains loud and clear.
The statement also warned political fortune seekers to be weary of mud slinging and name dropping so as not to breed unnecessary misunderstanding and hatred in the party especially at this crucial period that internal cohesion and harmony are vital for the victory of the Party in the forthcoming general elections.
