Senator Wamakko Spent About N820m On Education From 2015 To Date

The amount was part of sponsorships to indigenous students studying in various institutions across the world.

As part of his philanthropic efforts to ensure the provision of quality education for the indigent children in the state,Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko has again sponsored another set of 17 undergraduate students to study their first Degree at the University of Lahore, Republic of Pakistan.

Sen. Wamakko has been sponsoring many indigent children in the state to acquire their first Degrees, Masters and PhDs, within and outside Nigeria.

The recent batch of seventeen students were sent to Pakistan to study various Degree courses mostly Sciences, Information Technology and Engineering, among other related fields.

As stated by the Acting Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education,Almustapha Abubakar Alkali while adressing newsmen at the President Tinubu Conference Hall,Sokoto, the first batch of 25 students who were sent to study undergraduate and Post graduate programs in Pakistan have graduated with flying colors.

Also sponsored to various countries by Senator Wamakko, were 3 students at United State of America, 4 to United Kingdom, 4 at Cyprus, 3 in Malaysia and 13 students to Bangladesh.

Others were those of Maryam Abacha American University Maradi, where first and second batches of 57 and 32 students were sent.

The 57 beneficiaries under the first batch had successfully graduated in various fields of study.

Furthermore, another batch was sent to ISFOP at Benin Republic,numbering 27, while another set of 6 students was sponsored at Islamic University, Uganda.

In the same vein, 20 students are currently at the Sudan Academy for Aviation Sciences and Technology.

However, due to the current security situation in Sudan, the students may be taken to another country by the sponsor to continue their studies or wait until the situation improves.

Senator Wamakko had also sent 10 more students to the Islamic University of Niger, Saye, Niger Republic for first degree programs.

Similarly, 25 students are currently studying at the prestigious Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto and Al-Qalam University Katsina, Katsina State where 63 students are enjoying the sponsorship of Sen. Wamakko.

Additionally, 30 and 22 students are currently studying at Al-Hikmah and Crown Hill Universities Ilorin, Kwara State, respectively.

As an Iconic educationist and a foremost educationist, Sen. Wamakko had also sponsored 17 additional students to study Computer Science at Dialogue Computer Institute Kaduna, Kaduna State.

In the same vein, the Senator is currently sponsoring 45 students pursuing various first degree courses at the Lead City University, Ibadan, Oyo State.

The unrivalled political leader in Sokoto State and a beacon of hope for the masses had also sponsored the first and second batches of 54 students to study their post graduate Degrees (Masters and PhDs) at various fields of studies at Nigeria Defence Academy, Kaduna, Kaduna State.

While at National Water Resource Institute Mando, Kaduna, Kaduna State, His Excellency Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko sponsored 15 indigents students to study Diploma programs.

In BIGA College Sokoto, Sokoto State, Sen. Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, Sarkin Yamman Sokoto had sponsored 80 students to study National Certificate of Education, NCE, among other institutions of learning within and outside the country.

All these giant strides of Sen. Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko are part of his dreams to see the children of the less privileged in the society especially in Sokoto State are competing favourably with their peers in various states of the country.

Sen. Wamakko, who represents Sokoto Noth Senatorial District at the Red Chamber of the National Assembly has for long been sponsoring many Indigent children from the state and beyond just to equip them to become more productive members in the society and be part of nation’s assets for a better future in Nigeria.

Another remarkable stride by the Senator as seasoned administrator, educationist, classroom teacher and of course, Chief Servant of Sokoto people who has been working towards ensuring better society, the Senator has just initiated and established the first private University in Sokoto State named “NORTH WEST UNIVERSITY, SOKOTO” for Knowledge, Progress and Excellence.

The University had already commenced its academic calendar with certain number of students who are currently studying degree programs in different science courses.

The University is one of the cheapest institutions in terms of school fees and very accommodative in welcoming all decent, committed and prolific students.
