By Joyce Remi- Babayeju

Management of the Federal Capital Territory Internal Revenue Service, FCT- IRS, has extended filling of annual tax returns to March 31, 2022 for for employers, agents or organizations due to server failure. This is contained in a statement signed by Mustapha Sumaila
Head, Corporate Communications, FCT-IRS , made available to newsmen today.

According to the statement, FCT-IRS had fixed deadline for the filing of annual returns for employers, agents or organisations for January 31 but the extension was necessitated as a result of the technical hitches on the server.

However the management has apologized to its esteemed taxpayers for the difficulty and challenges they experience in the process of payment and other services via the online channels in the past few days due to an unexpected downtime on its server.

FCT-IRS said it deeply regrets inconveniences the failed server might have caused customers .

“The Service is committed to the valued taxpayers, and will continue to work hard to improve abilities to serve them better.”

The management is pleased to inform the taxpayers that the issue has been resolved and they can now make payment with ease.
