Sheriff Commends Shettima’s Exemplary Leadership Qualities

Former Governor of Borno State, Senator Ali Sheriff, lauded Vice President Kashim Shettima’s exceptional leadership attributes, describing him as a true embodiment of core leadership values. Senator Sheriff shared his sentiments during a conversation with journalists following his visit to Vice President Shettima at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Sheriff expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for recognizing Shettima’s competence and suitability as his running mate. He remarked, “I am here to meet with the Vice President of Nigeria, who also happens to be my younger brother. We collaborated closely during my tenure as the Governor of Borno State. I’ve come to extend my blessings to his position as the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and wish him success.”

Reflecting on the remarkable trajectory of Shettima’s rise, Sheriff marveled at the transformative power of time. “It’s truly awe-inspiring. Someone who worked alongside me for over a decade has now ascended to the second-highest office in Nigeria.”

Recalling their shared history, the influential member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) took pride in having handed over the governance of Borno State to Shettima in 2011. He highlighted their collaborative efforts across various governance levels.

Shettima, in turn, emphasized the journey they undertook together. “I entrusted the leadership of Borno State to him, and we worked together at different echelons of governance. He has consistently demonstrated exemplary leadership qualities over the years.”

Acknowledging the hand of destiny in Shettima’s current position, Sheriff pointed out, “Through divine guidance, His Excellency President Bola Tinubu chose him as his running mate. This brings me immense joy, and I’ve visited to convey my blessings and well wishes.”

The sentiments shared by Sheriff not only highlight the camaraderie and respect between the two leaders but also emphasize Shettima’s noteworthy ascent within the realm of Nigerian politics.
