From football stars like to musicians, actors/actresses to the common man on the street, you could pick the trend. Red, Green, Gold, Wine, Blue, Purple, Blonde and so many other colors are visibly spotted on many. Different individuals are catching the hair dye fever and before you know it will get to the kids. Be it to hide a few strands of grey hair or to enhance the beauty, some people find themselves in this class, using the permanent hair dye whose effects typically lasts a period of weeks as opposed to the ephemeral effect of the temporary hair dyes.
Whenever you catch the flu, know factor in the pros and cons before you use any permanent dye. The pros are to probably look attractive for yourself or your partner or it could be to hide the Grey hair as well as few other advantages but you also need to be aware that for them to be able to do the magic in changing your hair colour, they contain some dangerous chemicals which are known for causing irritation or inflammation as a result of the combination of chemicals has shown to be not only harsh on hair but could also cause cancer .You need not be deceived with the images of natural ingredients on the packaging as most of them are not regulated for safety.

1. It could damage your hair
Application of permanent hair dye could be a fun thing to do, but if done regularly could make one lose one’s natural pigments which would cause different damages such as hair drying, hair breakage also make it lose luster.
Note that once affected, while you can revive your hair to its original form,it can only be to a particular extent and the best solution might just be to cut your hair and start afresh.

2. You could have an allergic reaction to it
Many are guilty of not reading the instructions on products before buying them. Most hair-dyes come with a commonly ignored instruction to take a little and apply to a small area of your hair as a test to see if the user is allergic to the product. This test is rarely practiced and this results in some people reacting negatively to the hair-dyes. This ranges from weeping blisters and redness of the scalp to a burning sensation on the hair, itchy scalp and it could also extend to an intense swelling of the face or other sensitive areas such as the neck and face.

3. It affects fertility
Studies has shown that people who use hair dye could have issues with fertility.
Shocking right? Well, one of the common chemicals used in producing the permanent hair dye is lead acetate which studies has shown is one of the causes of infertility in both the male and female sex.
Note that it is not advisable for pregnant women to dye their hair as their unborn babies are at the risk of having malignancy.

4. It can cause Asthma
The regular use of permanent hair dye can lead to asthma as the product contains persulfates which causes respiratory disorder. If inhaled continually, it could lead to symptoms like shortness of breath, wheezing, chest tightness, coughing and on the long run, asthmatic attacks.

5. It can can lead to conjunctivitis
Sometimes, when the hair dye is not professionally done, the chemicals can make contact with parts of the face which can lead to it swelling, and if the chemicals from the hair dye touch the eye, it could lead to severe discomfort and if care is not taken, it could lead to the user getting pink eye or conjunctivitis.
Precaution :
A way to avoid all these is to get a professional to do it for you, to opt for temporary or semi permanent hair dyes as although not 100% safe, don’t contain as much injuries chemicals which are present in the permanent dye, use products that are approved and from trusted brands and even trying out natural hair dyeing alternatives such as coffee, henna, beet and carrot juice
