A delegation from the Sokoto Advancement Forum (SAF) has paid a courtesy visit to the Sokoto State Police Command to seek collaboration on strengthening security in the state.
Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ahmad Rufa’i, in a statement, said the delegation was led by the Forum’s Chairman, Ambassador Professor Muhammad Ahmad Wali, and was received by Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Musa, alongside his management team.
The Forum, a non-partisan civil society group launched on April 30, 2025, brings together major stakeholders across Sokoto State. Its core aim is to complement government’s efforts in governance by contributing knowledge, wisdom, experience, and resources for development and security.
During the visit, Ambassador Wali stressed that the Nigeria Police Force remains the lead agency in internal security. He said the Forum’s visit was to formally introduce itself and seek a strong partnership with the Command in promoting peace and stability across Sokoto.
In response, CP Ahmed Musa welcomed the delegation, which included prominent academics, and commended the Forum’s objectives. He assured them of the Command’s full support, noting that such community-driven initiatives play a vital role in intelligence gathering, crime prevention, and creating a safe environment necessary for economic and social growth.
He expressed optimism that the collaboration would further strengthen Sokoto’s security architecture.
