Sokoto Health Commissioner Urges General Hospitals to Utilize Allocated Funds

By Muhammad Ibrahim, Sokoto

The management of General Hospitals in Sokoto State has been reminded that the monthly cash allocation provided to them is meant for minor repairs and the provision of essential supplies for their respective facilities.

State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Faruk Umar Abubakar Wurno, made this known during an unscheduled visit to Rabah and Goronyo General Hospitals.

He emphasized the need for hospital administrators to ensure the proper utilization of these funds to create a more conducive environment for healthcare delivery.

Dr. Faruk Abubakar, however, commended the management of the two hospitals for maintaining good sanitary conditions and urged them to sustain the effort.

He also expressed satisfaction with the effective planning adopted in running the hospitals, despite the security challenges in the two areas.

The Commissioner assured the hospitals that the government is committed to addressing the challenges they face.

Additionally, he directed all staff members who were absent during his visit to report to the Ministry immediately.

Dr. Faruk Abubakar was accompanied on the visit by the Executive Director of the State Hospital Services Management Board, Dr. Bello Abubakar Attahiru, along with several directors from the Ministry and the Board.
