Sokoto NASS: APC loses two seats

By Jennifer Y Omiloli

On Wednesday, the Sokoto Division of the Court of Appeal returned the National Assembly Senator Ibrahim Danbaba and Balarabe Kakale as Senator and member of the House of Representatives.

In a short judgment read by Justice Frederick Oho, the court said both Peoples Democratic Party candidates during the 2019 election were successful in the appeals filed and details of the judgment will be given later.

Oho rejected the Sokoto State Election Petitions Tribunal’s judgments dismissing the petitions of the appellants in favor of the respondents who are candidates for the All Progressive Congress.

Abubakar Shehu-Tambuwal for the Sokoto Southern Senatorial District and Aliyu Shehu, representing Bodinga / Dange-Shuni / Tureta, are the APC candidates who won the elections and currently occupy the seats.
