Sokoto Police Command Holds ICCES Meeting For Better Elections Procedures

The Interagency Consultative Committee on Election Security (ICCES) chaired by the Commissioner of Police in Sokoto State,Husseini Gumel held meetings with all political candidates contesting for National and States political positions fielded by the 18 political parties in Sokoto State and their political party chairmen.

The statement by the Commands’ Spokesman Sanusi Abubakar said the meeting among other aspects of political security discussed how to manage elections victories and losses,prohibited activities on election days,brainstorm on the emerging security challenges that could mar the electoral process especially In banditry prone LGAs.

The statement further said the discussion was far reaching and productive enough for way forward towards safer electioneering processes.
