Sokoto State Government Recalls 843 Indigenous Nurses And Midwives, Restore Monthly Allowances

State Commissioner for Health, Hajiya Asabe Balarabe made the assertion while briefing newsmen on the achievements of Governor Ahmad Aliyu’s one year in office.

She said the state government has collaborated with Orthopaedic Hospital Wamakko to re-introduced knee, spinal and hip replacement surgeries, flagged off distribution of 40,000 cartons of RUTF to children affected by the outbreak of unknown disease now identified as Heavy Metals Poisoning and malnurished children as well.

The state government under her Ministry has also distributed medical equipment and consumables to to health facilities across the state to prevent waste and expiries especially items stocked since the covid-19 era.

Another achievement according to her is the payment of clinical allowances to indigenes studying Pharmacy, Nursing, Radiology, Laboratory Sciences at Clinical stages.

“Ministry Of Health collaborated with USAID to procure essential RUTF supplement worth N500m for distribution tovhealth facilities across the state”.

Similarly the state government detected and responded to outbreak on Denge fever that has affected 75 people,Lassa fever affected 19,Cerebro Spinal Miningitis 18, Cholera 96, Measles 246 children, Diphteria 49 and Yellow fever 45 to mention a few of the achievements recorded under the state Ministry of Health.
