As part of efforts towards improving the education sector at the levels, State Universal Basic Education, Sokoto under stewardship of Acting Chairman and Director Finance of the the Board Alh Abba Shehu Tambuwal and its Executive Secretary Alh Mamuda Ahmad Wamakko organised training workshops for teachers of basic schools across the state at different times within three weeks.
Public Relations Officer of the Commission, Danladi Muhammad Tsamaye said the training workshops being carried out at different times in the state, is jointly organised by the SUBEB Sokoto and Universal Basic Education Commission, Abuja with a view to improving teachers capacity for the progress of education.
The workshop trainings consist of SMASE Cycle three, Head teachers and Computer.
While on a visit to Yahaya Abdulkarim Primary and Junior Secondary schools, the Executive Secretary represented by Director Primary of the Board, Mal Aminu Abubakar Bado explained that the idea behind organising the workshop training and called on the participants to be attentive on what they are taught.
He noted that the series of training workshops are part of the nine point smart agenda of Governor Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto led administration in the state.
Sokoto State Official of the Universal Basic Education Commission, Alh Abdulkadir Umar Shuni pointed out that the training was aimed at revitalising the standard of education in the country by boosting the morale of teachers. He further commended the foresight of the executive members of the Board for their sustained support and coopueration in actualising the goals of education.
Similarly, the training workshops of over five hundred participants are being carried out at Yakubu Mu’azu Science Model Primary school and Sokoto Teachers College on teachers, science teachers ie SMASE CYCLE 3 drawn from the 23 local government areas of the state.
In his remarks, Director Quality Assurance of the Board, Umar Muhammad Sanyinna has reiterated the state governments commitment in ensuring quality and dedicated teachers for the development of education. He further enumerated the courses offered and others being offered by the Board adding that the participants need to be serious with the training.
Some of the participants expressed gratitude and assured using the knowledge acquired to enhance their teaching techniques.
