The insecurity and banditry in Okun land in the recent time was allegedly fueled by the collaboration of youths in Kogi West senatorial district.
The son of a leading traditional ruler in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government, Kogi Stare and one other person have been arrested for being informants and logistics suppliers to bandits causing havoc in the area.
The suspects, Jeremiah Dada and Olumide Babawale were both
apprehended by operatives of Yagba West Joint Security Squad.
According to an update on
YAGBA WEST SECURITY obtained on Thursday, Jeremiah Dada son of Oba Rotimi Dada of Ilemla, Egbe, was arrested and being accused of being the supplier of Indian hemp, hard drugs to bandits operating in the area.
His accomplice, Olumide Babawale is said to be the supplier of hard drugs to the bandits.
“To the people of Kogi West, the end of the road for those notorious element is close by,” according to the update.
The state governor , Usman Ahmed Ododo had during his recent visit to troops in the area said that bandits and their collaborators will be given the same treatment when caught.
Yagba West Local Government recently came under intense attacks by bandits who have killed six policemen and many residents .
The bandits have also kidnapped so many residents for ransom while
hundreds of residents of Okunran village of Yagba West local government of Kogi state fled their homes for fear of becoming victims of armed bandits and instant death.
