In its effort to end banditry in tureta local government area and other adjoining villages,the sokoto state government has approved the construction of the tureta – gidan kare road so as to make bandits’ dens easily accessible in the area.
Gov. Ahmed aliyu dropped this hint when he visited tureta local government as part of his state-wide tour to the 23 local governments of the state.
Press secretary to the governor abubakar bawa also said the road, when completed, would provide the security agencies easy access to bushes that serve as hideouts to the bandits in the area.
“As a government, we are committed to providing all that is necessary to make our local communities safe, devoid of any security challenge.
“Be rest assured that we will spend our last kobo to guarantee the safety of the lives and property of our people.
” we are always touched by the heinous acts of banditry in our dear state, and we are taking more measures to end the menace insha allah,”He vowed.
The governor, to this end, called for more support and fervent prayers from the locals to achieve the set target.
Gov. Aliyu also promised to construct feeder roads, water projects,renovate jumuat mosque as well install 250 solar- powered street lights in the area.
The governor also paid similar visit to dange shuni,bodinga, and silame local government areas.
While there, gov. Aliyu announced the award of some projects to include: feeder roads,installation of solar-powered street lights,water works, renovation of jumuat mosques and health facilities.
Earlier, the apc leader in the state, sen. Aliyu magatakarda wamakko, extolled the various initiatives introduced by gov. Aliyu’s administration to roundly turn around the fortunes of the state.
He solicited for more support to the present administration in its quest to transform the state.
Other speakers at the events included the former minister of police affairs, muhammad maigari dingyadi, aliyu abubakar tureta, aminu magaji bodai and umaru katami, among others
They all lauded the efforts of the present administration in providing the direly needed dividends of democracy across the state.
