Speaker Abbas Mourns New Telegraph Photojournalist, Liberty TV Reporter

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, Ph.D., has expressed deep sorrow over the deaths of two notable journalists: Mr. Elijah Olaluyi, a photojournalist with the New Telegraph, and Malam Mohammed Adamu, a reporter with Liberty Radio and Television.

In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Musa Abdullahi Krishi, Speaker Abbas conveyed his condolences to the families of Olaluyi and Adamu, as well as to the media organizations they represented and the House and Senate Press Corps.

Olaluyi passed away on Thursday evening, while Adamu, an experienced journalist, died in the early hours of Wednesday. The Speaker honored their contributions, stating, “These were veteran media men who covered the National Assembly for years and had institutional memories of people and events at the federal parliament. They will be greatly missed. My heart is with their families and the Press Corps at this moment of grief.”

Speaker Abbas prayed for the repose of their souls and for their families to find strength during this difficult time.
