The Chairman of the Kogi State Forum of Senior Special Assistants to the Governor (KSFSSA), Hon. Dr. Joseph Best A. Omeiza, has called on youths to proactively identify and seize practical opportunities that can enhance their economic participation and personal development.
Dr. Omeiza made the call during the Empowerment Outreach and Youth Stakeholders Meeting held on Tuesday at the palace of His Royal Highness, the Ohi of Okene, Kogi Central.
He described the event as a strategic platform for community transformation, made possible through the visionary leadership of Ambassador Hamzat Lawal.
“This initiative speaks volumes about our shared commitment to youth development, inclusive growth, and sustainable community empowerment,” he said. “It offers a vital opportunity to engage, reflect, and mobilize ourselves toward building a future where every young person is equipped, included, and inspired.”
He further emphasized the forum’s core objectives, which include fostering meaningful collaboration among youth leaders and stakeholders, and most importantly, empowering young people to lead with innovation, resilience, and impact.
As part of the outreach programme, Dr. Omeiza highlighted the importance of addressing menstrual hygiene through the Sanitary Pad Empowerment initiative, describing it as a transformative aspect of gender empowerment.
“This focus is not only timely but vital to ensuring dignity, health, and school retention for young girls,” he noted.
Urging continued participation, he said, “Let us bring our voices, ideas, and resolve. Our diversity is our strength, and our unity is our power. Together, we can move from conversation to collective transformation.”
Dr. Omeiza also commended the Executive Director of Connected Development (CODE), Ambassador Hamsat Lawal, for championing youth-centered initiatives and bringing the vision to fruition in Kogi State.
In his remarks, the Ohi of Okene, HRH Isah Okatahi Mamman, commended the commitment of youths and stakeholders in sustaining peace and unity in the Kogi Central Senatorial District.
