SSANU and NASU Announce Seven-Day Warning Strike Over Unpaid Salaries

By Milcah Tanimu

The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) and the Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU) have jointly declared a seven-day warning strike, citing the Federal Government’s withholding of four months’ worth of salaries following the 2022 nationwide strike.

The decision was reached after a meeting of the joint action committee of both unions in Akure, the Ondo State capital, held over the weekend. The unions are demanding the immediate payment of the withheld salaries, and further details on their course of action are expected to be revealed later.
