Steps on securing your Facebook account from hackers

Here are steps on how to secure your Facebook account and prevent hackers from hacking it.

Step 1: change your password, almost 90 percent of all Facebook hacks are the result of simple passwords that hackers can guess.
How to change your Facebook password: Go back to the settings. Go to security and log in on the left and then go to the heading that says log in. Click, edit and then enter in your current and new passwords to be safe. I recommend you change your Facebook password every two months.

Step 2: Choose Facebook friends that you can trust and you can contact in case you’re locked out of your Facebook account.
How to select your trusted Facebook friends: Go back to your settings, then its security and log in on the left side. The first is Choose Friends to contact you. Click, edit, and choose trusted contacts. Then you enter in your trusted Facebook friends names.

Step 3: Two factor authentications is a really effective way of stopping hacks to your Facebook account.
How to enable two factor authentications: Go to the security and log in on the left hand side. Then you scroll down to the two factor authentication click on edit click get started, click next.

Step 4: Log in alerts: It lets you know when someone actually got into your account from an unfamiliar device or web browser. What’s awesome about log-in alerts is it also covers Facebook Messenger.
How to set log in alert: Go to security and log in on the left hand side. Scroll down to setting up extra security. Look down to get alerts about unrecognized logins click edit, click the circle, forget notifications on Facebook and messenger. Click the circle for your email account and you can also add your mobile phone number.

Step 5: Delete unused Facebook account on third party apps, you know, another sneaky way for Facebook hackers to get into your account is through these apps.
How to delete these apps: Just follow the steps we talked about previously and get to the settings part of your Facebook page. Look to the left hand column scroll down to apps and web sites. There you see your active Facebook apps and web sites now. Click on expired. Then click, remove and then you’re done.
