STF Bursts Kidnap Racket, Rescues Victims in Jos

Men of the Special Task Force on Jos Crisis, otherwise known as Operation Safe Haven, today busted a kidnap syndicate in Jos, effected arrest of some of the perpetrators, and rescued the victims.

According to information from the STF, the operation which was a response to a distress call led to the rescue o abducted victim, arrest of the kidnappers and other militia men around Jos.

According o the report, one Zuwaria Mohameed was in the custody of the state when the said Adamu Umar deceived his victim that he had some dairy products o sale only to end up taking captive of her.

Adamu Umar, who has a record of having been arrested twice on kidnapping charges, placed a two million naira ransom on his victim when he contacted her husband before troops of OPSH stormed the agreed collection venue and arrested the abductor who attempted to escape on sighting men of the OPSH.

Of the twenty one criminals paraded, some were armed robbers and cattle rustlers arrested with different ammunitions including AK-47, local rifles, and narcotic substances.
