    Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State faces severe backlash for appointing Tunji Adeleke, the son of his late elder brother and former governor, Isiaka Adeleke, as a board chairman.

    Tunji, a recent graduate from Adeleke University in 2020, and who served in 2022, has been appointed as the chairman of the Local Government Service Commission.

    Remarkably, this appointment comes merely two weeks after Governor Adeleke also appointed Adenike Adeleke, the wife of his late elder brother, as a state commissioner.

    Adeleke’s decision to appoint his family members into prominent positions in the state has stirred controversy on social media.

    A Twitter user, @Realadeshina, expressed their disapproval, saying: “Congratulations Tunji Adeleke as Osun State Chairman board of local government. This disgrace is getting too much.”

    @simplysnipe said “Most people didn’t know or heard of the guy before, now they know him. I’m just loving the news coming out of Osun, the second Edo State. Next now is for our dancing governor to be commissioning disgraceful projects as an achievement but Osun people will blame the president.”

    @IkotunEmmy said, “ I told them when they were shouting “imole”. Adeleke should be ready to face a massive vote-out in the next election. Osun does not fall for mediocrity twice. The unfortunate thing is retrogression the state would have suffered.”

    Similarly, @MustyOsun said, “I never knew we could still operate a constitutional monarchical system.”

    Akin Akinwale wrote: “Whatever appointment Ademola Adeleke is making, whatever ineptitude he is displaying, it serves Osun State people right.

    “That said, I don’t have a problem with appointing your family members into your government (silly tho’). But I am after the competence. Is Tunji Jnr competent? If he is, all the best.”

    Adeleke Returns to School in Response to Opposition Attacks

    Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has shared that he decided to return to school and earn a degree due to attacks he faced from the opposition. Speaking at the convocation ceremonies of Adeleke University in Ede, Osun state, the governor revealed that after the 2018 governorship election loss, he became a target of severe personality attacks and assaults.

    Escaping the attacks, Adeleke left the country to complete his degree program, following the insistence of his elder brother, Dr. Deji Adeleke, who urged him to prioritize education if he wished to pursue his 2022 governorship ambition. Adeleke emphasized that age should not be seen as a barrier to pursuing educational dreams, as completing his education became a condition for his political aspirations.

    Encouraged by his brother’s advice, Adeleke made the decision to re-enroll and successfully completed his degree program. He expressed pride in this achievement and expressed gratitude to his family and friends for their unwavering support.

    Dr. Deji Adeleke, the founder of Adeleke University, also addressed the audience and called for collective efforts in bringing positive change to Nigeria. He urged Nigerians who desire a better country to actively contribute to nation-building rather than solely blaming those in positions of authority.
