    APC Stalwarts Decamped To PDP In Sokoto

    PDP have received 5 APC stalwarts alongside hundreds of their supporters who decamped APC in Dinawa Ward.

    The new card carrying members were formally received at a brief ceremony held in Dinawa town  by Wurno Local Government Council Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Arzika Ubandoma along with the party Chairman in the area Yusuf Marafa Wurno and other chieftains of the party. 

    Receiving the new card carrying members the PDP chieftain in the area Mansur Sani Dinawa said good people of the area on daily basis have been defecting to PDP. This he said is a clear indication of victory of the party ahead of 2023 General Elections. 

    Sani Dinawa said the PDP had allocated its tickets to main mission and vision in the opposition parties contrary to what obtained in opposition parties. 

    In his remarks, Wurno Local Government Council Chairman, Abubakar Arzika Wurno praised the foresight of the decampees as well as the giant stride of the party leadership in the ward. 

    He also applauded governor Tambuwal for his leadership style that helped in sanitizing the political system in the state. 

    Also speaking, the PDP Chairman in the area,Yusuf Marafa declared that Wurno is for PDP assuring the new card carrying members of inclusiveness in the party’s activities urging them to rally round the led administration for the development of the state and the country in general. 

    Also commenting separately, leaders of the decampees expressed their readiness to support the party at all levels.

    There is no doubt that going by the recent election guidelines released by INEC, political parties will be conducting primary elections starting from next month to last between April and May this year.

    In his quest to get prepared ahead of time and to put his house in order, the Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi at the weekend organized an expanded stakeholders meeting in his constituency where he brought together critical party stalwarts and all the 162 ward Excos and 13 LG Excos from his constituency.

    Speaker Balarabe Abdullahi (APC Umaisha /Ugya) said the meeting was a prerequisite and starting point for what is ahead of them in respect to the anticipated primary elections.

    The Speaker who noted that APC is already rooted in Toto LG and is the party to beat in the area stressed that despite the fact that APC has no any strong opposition, they will work as a team in unity and full strength to go for primaries with bulk votes for their aspirants.

    He tasked all stakeholders and the wards and LG Excos to rebuild their strength, hold tight their people and political strong holds as well as embrace peaceful and effective grassroots mobilizations.

    The meeting generally reviewed the individual performances of all their elected representatives whom the voted for in the last election ranging from the the President, the Governor, Senator, House of Representatives Member and the Speaker who is their State Assembly Representative respectively where commendations and observations were made in respect to individual performances.

    The meeting also had in attendance Hon. Yusuf Omaki who is a Former State Lawmaker and Former Commissioner from the constituency as well as the APC Chairman Toto LGA Alh Shuaibu Ahmed and the immediate past Chairman of the LG Prince Nuhu Adamu Dauda who both hailed from the constituency among others.
