Centre Decries Abduction of Christian Girls in Yobe for suspected Ritual Purposes

    By our correspondent

A trending video in Damaturu, Yobe state capital, Northeast Nigeria, has shown one of the rescued underaged Christian girl abducted and forcefully converted to Islam by a group linked to Islamic Religious Affairs ministry in the state, vomiting strange substances during a service in church.

Reacting to the trendng video in a statement the Centre for Justice on Religious and Ethnicity in Nigerian,
Specifically alleged that when the girl, Rejoice Markus, was rescued from the Damaturu Emirs’ palace and taken to Anglican Church for deliverance, she vomited all sorts of Islamic and satanic concoctions given to her through her mouth and private parts.

Among other things, the statement originally signed and made available to newsmen in Kaduna recently, by the Director General, Centre for Justice on Religious and Ethnicity in Nigerian, Rev. Kallamu Musa Ali Dikwa, also alleged that some of the victims placenta were used for rituals.

The Anglican Church Bishop and Christian Assassination of Nigeria (CAN) chairman Yobe state, His Holiness, Bishop. Audu Yohanna also confirmed to our reporter that the girl also vomited in the Church office when he laid hands on her, when she knelt down for prayers.

“I lay hand on her in my Church office where she vomited but I didn’t take shot of it”, the Bishop stated in a phone call.

Earlier, in an elaborate statement, the Borno born Kanuri, Rev. Dikwa stated that the Muslims are using the placenta of underaged Christian girls’ converted to Islam for rituals purposes.

“When we rescued Rejoice Markus, and took her to the Church for deliverance, she was vomiting all the Islamic satanic concoction given to her through mouth and private part”.

“Elizabeth Bitrus, Deborah Yusuf, Damarin Paul, Linda Usman and three others are experiencing the same thing. Right now we received information that Cecilia Mathias is uncomfortable and unhappy with the attitude of her keeper at the Damaturu emir’s palace because they have been treating her badly.

“She does not have freedom of herself; they have been monitoring and controlling her not to escape by herself or to be rescued by others just like one of the underaged abducted Christian girl, Faith Timothy, who escaped from the emir’s palace and reunited with her parents.

The statement titled “Injustice and impunity: The Failure of Authorities to Address the Abduction of Christian Girls in Northern Nigeria”, Rev. Dikwa however stated reasons for the escalation of the menace in Northern Nigeria.

“The Reason why Muslim Ummah and Islam is progressing in northern Nigeria is because they are working together in unity and standing for Islam with one voice for the promotion of Islam through Jihad in so many ways to achieve their aims for the progress of Islam in the northern region.

“Muslim youths, Muslim politicians, traditional rulers and Islamic scholars and marabout Mallams are working together in different ways in abducting under aged Christian girls forcefully converting and marrying them off to Muslim youths.

“The Muslims are. using the placenta of underaged Christian girls converted to Islam for rituals. When we rescued Rejoice Markus, one of the abducted Christian girl from the Damaturu Emirs palace and took her to the Church Anglican Communion for deliverance, she was vomiting all the Islamic satanic concoction given to her through mouth and private part.

“Elizabeth Bitrus, Deborah Yusuf, Damarin Paul, Linda Usman and three others are experiencing the same thing. Right now we received information that Cecilia Mathias is uncomfortable and unhappy with the attitude of her keeper at the Damaturu Emir’s palace because they have been treating her badly..

“She does not have freedom of herself; they have been monitoring and controlling her not to escape by herself or to be rescued by others just like one of the underaged abducted Christian girl, Faith Timothy, who escaped from the emir’s palace and reunited with her parents”, it stated.

According to the statement, one “Faith Timothy is an indigene of Kaduna state staying with her uncle, a Police officer attached to the deputy Governor of Yobe State.

When the Emir and the Sharia Islamic terrorist jihad chairman abducted Faith Timothy, her uncle who is a police officer reported the matter to the Yobe State commissioner of Police that his sister was abducted by the Emir and the Islamic Sharia terrorist Jihad Chairman.

“The commissioner of Police responded to the officer, “Do you want me to go and rescue your sister from the Emirs palace or what?”, the statement added.

“We notice that the Federal government is backing the Northern Muslim youths, politicians, traditional rulers and Islamic scholars to continue abducting our underaged Christian daughters, forcing them to Islam and marrying them forcefully.

“We are therefore calling on President Bola Tinubu to admonish Northern Muslim youths, politicians, traditional rulers and Islamic scholars to stop further abduction of underaged Christian girls, forcefully converting them to Islam and marrying them against their will.

“We also call on Mr President to order the Committee Chairman on abduction of under aged Christian girls, Chairman Islamic Sharia terrorist Jihad committee, emir of Damaturu and Yobe State governor Mai Mala Buni to release all the abducted Christian girls to their parents before it is too late.

“We will not continue to allow the Muslims from the north to take our patience for granted and continue to think that Christians from the north are slaves to Muslims in the north. We are giving them 48 hours to release the girls, failure to do so will cause us to organize our Christian youths to take action.

“What the Muslims from the north are doing to Christians by abducting underaged Christian girls, if reverse was the case there would have been war in this country before now because the Islamic scholars will start preaching incitement and brainwashing their followers to attack and kill Christians.

“It’s not that the Christians can’t abduct Muslim girls and convert them to Christianity but Christians are law abiding citizens of their dear country and have a principle of worshiping God that nobody can help God in the name of promoting their religion with criminality; this is the belief of Christians as this is not good before God but it seems the Muslim governors, traditional rulers and Islamic scholars are taking advantage of our patience, quietness and principle of obeying God our creator whom we worship.

“They continue to abduct our underaged daughters illegally, harassing, intimidating and terrorizing us by doing so. Be informed that we are going to take action even if it means risking our lives, provided the Federal Government refuses to follow due process in stopping these governors, traditional rulers and Islamic scholars from abducting our daughters.

Contacted, CAN Secretary Yobe State, Rev. Ibrahim Kure Abagu, of Ecwa Church, who said he told of 30 cases of abducted Christian girls ongoing by a police, confirmed that he know about the case of Rejoice Markus and several other abducted Christian girls by some women group under what they tagged as “Ministry of Islamic Religious Affairs”, because no single non- muslim is employed and working in the ministry.

“I know the case of Rejoice, I’m aware of her case. Timothy Faith was one that we were at Emirs palace. I’m not she was taken to church after her released. We had two cases we had followed it up and down to ministry of religious affairs, last year 2023, and to Emirs palace.
“Rejoice was one of them and Faith too. That of faith, we were at emirs palace when they brother her out to see us, because they said that they’ll release that one (rejoice) because she was underaged. because is a minor.
That of Faith they did not accept on ground that Islamically, she has freedom of making choice of religion to worship.

“Even they brought her out to see us, to ask her in our presence. The mother grabbed her, and wanted to go with the daughter, but they gathered and took the girl away and return her back to the emirs palace. That one happen before my eyes as i was present.

That was not the first time we went to emirs palace on behalf of that girl, we went like two other times before they finally brother her out that day, that Faith Timothy, one Kaduna girl leaving with anti in Yobe state.

“Even though she said in our present that it was her decision to become a Muslim, even though they took her away by force before. She was happy when the mother grabbed her, they over power the mother and took her away from her.

” We were told that women were responsible for taken her to religious affairs ministry when she was abducted. Before we got the news the mother was going there to meet them and talk to them about the release of her daughter and they didn’t, until we came into the matter and went to the emirs palace.
“Some women abducted her but I don’t know the women in question, or even their identity. But they abducted her and was taken to the religious affairs ministry.

“The entire ministry, they did not allow any Christian to work there. So most times we refers to it as ministry of Islamic affairs, because we believe that if its ministry of religious affairs they’ve to recognise other religion in the state to represent both. At least at desk officers for both. But nothing like that. I don’t think theirs any Christian women among the abductors too.

They use to bring some lawyers in meeting including the meeting we had concerning abduction with them, but all the lawyers are Muslims by faith.

“Police said they’re helpless because when engaged the police in this discussion, we went as far as government house where we met with the chief security officer of the Governor. We went as far as to the DSS director but didn’t get anything from them to help rescue the girls.

In personally wrote a letter of complaints as directed by the state chairman to intimate DSS about this issue, and personally submitted it to DSS office, and was acknowledged with receipt. But nothing was done officially of the case of Faith till now.

“Honestly I don’t have the precise number/of abducted girls now. The number maybe rising I don’t know but there are cases that were not reported. There are about two going on now that did not come to us officially as CAN, but from others sources because LG CAN chapter did not relate the issue to us officially at state state level.

“And we’re told that a police said there are over 30 cases of that nature in their office. Somebody has sent the number of the police officer to me but yet to call him to confirm. Not all of them have come to us. I don’t know where is Faith Timothy right now. We want to help her they refused.

‘We stopped and became helpless because of issue of her age, she was already twenty, some said 21, so is an adult by that age, and the abductors were using it. They’ve however never agreed Faith was abducted, but agreed that others that were abducted.

For all that we’ve assisted in rescuing, no damages has been paid for them and we did not asked for it too. We were carried away by excitement of the joy of rescued them probably because of the difficulty and tough time we went through before rescuing them.

“The Commissioner police (CP) police state was fully aware because there was a joint meeting held at emirs palace, and Chief security Officer to the Governor, DSS and CP representative were all present.

“The foster father of Faith in Damaturu is a member of security detail to the deputy Governor of the state, an Inspector of police, who brought her from southern Kaduna. So from many sources the Governor received the messages.

“At a point we made am appealed that they should allowed parents of the girls the knowledge of marriage and willingness to convert them to Islam, and allowed them to be coming to parent families. That there are families with dual religion faith as bothers and sisters, in meeting.

There’s a peculiar case of a Christian woman with children about 3 kids, married to Christian man, ongoing now, not necessary abduction, but who want to change her religion to Islam.

“They refused her to come back and stay with her husband and practice her Muslim religion. Two weeks ago the case was generating tensions. They said that once you she converted she can’t leave with Christian, even when we argued and told them that bible allow it. I think the report is now with police and DSS formally.
