    In what could be regarded as banditry war, armed bandits have reportedly razed down church building in kajuru local government area of kaduna state central causing tension in the area.

    kaduna security update on Sunday 21st February 2021 has received state that Security agencies have reported that armed bandits razed the building of the Holy Family Catholic Church, and two homes, in Kikwari village, Kajuru local government area with no human casualties yet to be reported.

    According to internal security and Home affairs commissioner Mr. Samuel Aruwan, the report received, stated that the locals natives fled the area on receiving information that some bandits were sighted outside the village.
    It stated that on getting to the location, the armed bandits set ablaze the place of worship and the two houses.

    Receiving the report, Governor El-Rufai commisserated with the community, and condemned the setting ablaze of the place of worship and two houses by armed bandits.

    As usual, the Governor empathized with the church and assured them that the government under his watch would continue to work hard in the fight against banditry and other crimes.

    He charged worshippers to remain strong in their faith and devotion, and see it as an act perpetrated by enemies of peace, humanity and diversity who will not succeed but will be defeated by the grace of God.
    The Governor has directed the Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency to urgently assess the damage done and take appropriate action.

    Kaduna: Bandits Kill Four In Igabi, Kajuru LGAs

    At least four people have been killed by bandits during an attack in communities in Igabi and Kajuru local government areas of Kaduna state.

    The bandits, according to the State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, attacked Nasarawa Kalgo community on the outskirts of Jaji, Rigachikun district in Igabi local government area, and killed
    a resident, Harrisu Ibrahim.

    Similarly, armed bandits attacked the Kujama area of Chikun local government area, and were repelled by local vigilantes.

    However, as they retreated to their hideouts, the bandits attacked Janwuriya village in Kajuru local government area, and killed two brothers, Nuhu Ishaya and Yakubu Ishaya.

    In a separate incident, bandits invaded Maraban Kajuru, also in Kajuru local government area and killed one resident, Samiru Na Ya’u.

    Meanwhile, Governor Nasir El-Rufai has expressed sadness over the incidents , and prays for the repose of the souls of the slain, while sending his condolences to their families, Aruwan’s statement said.

    The Governor also tasked security agencies to conduct diligent investigations into the incidents.

    Kajuru Killings: CAN Calls On FG To Protect Helpless Citizens

    The Kaduna State Chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has condemned the renewed attacks in Kajuru Local Government Area of the state calling on the Federal Government to come to the aid of the residents.

    Over 20 residents of Kajuru have been reported killed and scores of others injured following an attack by suspected herdsmen.

    In a statement issued on Wednesday to commiserate with the people of Kajuru, the Chairman of CAN in the state, Reverend Joseph Hayab appealed to people in the area, irrespective of their ethnic or religious identities, to work together to promote peace and security of their community.

    “We must not forget that an injury to one is an injury to all,” CAN statement read in part.

    The Christian body, however, questioned if the Federal Government is truly aware of the happenings in Kajuru or that it has chosen to ignore the people.

    Given the need to secure the life of every citizen, CAN calls on the government to truly take on its constitutional role of protecting innocent citizens, in order to avoid a situation whereby the people may take up arms to defend themselves.

    “Recently, the general frenzy is that despite the continuing attacks on hapless Kajuru communities, those responsible for ensuring the security of lives and property are only but playing lips service to the security challenge.
