    Lovers Found Dead Inside Car in Ogun

    A man and a woman have been found dead in a vehicle around the Mowe/Ibafo area of the Lagos/Ibadan Expressway.

    The Ogun State Police on Wednesday said the man who was identified as Akeem had killed himself with a substance suspected to be sniper after killing his lover.

    According to the police, Akeem had earlier been reported at the Ilaje Police Division in Lagos State for hitting an object on her head which led to her death.

    “When the lady became unconscious, the man put her in his car and drove off, took sniper on their way to Ogun State and they were both found dead around NASFAT area of Mowe-Ibafo axis of the state,” the State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said in Abeokuta, the state capital.

    The PPRO explained that the situation was reported at the station after people became suspicious as the vehicle remained on the same spot for two days.

    He also debunked speculations that the couple died during sexual intercourse.

    “They did not die while having sex, the man had earlier been reported at Ilaje police station in Lagos. He was reported for allegedly hitting an object on his lover’s head”.

    “When the lady became unconscious, the man put her in his car and drove off. He reportedly took snipper on their way to Ogun State and they were both found dead around NASFAT,” Oyeyemi said.

    He, however, said investigations are ongoing to ascertain remote and immediate causes of the deaths.

    Lovers Found Dead In Their Apartment In Delta, Suicide Suspected

    Two lovers have been found dead in their apartment at Uvwie in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.

    The couple identified as Emmanuel Oshiotu, 33, and Amaka Okafor, 25, were found dead in apartment located at 2, Ojigbo Crescent, Off Sapele-Effurun road on Thursday, February 25.

    It was gathered that an insecticide, popularly called “sniper” and a knife were found beside their bodies indicating suicide, or maybe murder-suicide.

    One of the neighbours of the deceased told journalists that at about 5:00 a.m., Emmanuel was heard screaming for help. On breaking into his room, he was found foaming from his mouth, while his girlfriend’s body laid a few distance from him.

    The lovers were rushed to the Central Hospital, Warri, where they were both confirmed dead and bodies later deposited in the morgue.

    The Divisional Police Officer of A Division, Warri, CSP Muktari Bello and his officers were spotted inspecting the bodies at the morgue.

    Acting spokesperson of the Delta State Police Command, DSP Edafe Bright, has confirmed the incident.
