Voting for the 2024 MLS All-Star game is now open, allowing fans, players, and media members to select this year’s standout players.

Twenty-six players will don the MLS All-Star Jerseys this summer to face the Liga MX All-Stars in both a game and a skills challenge.

Reigning world player of the year and Inter Miami superstar Lionel Messi, his teammate and Uruguay’s star striker Luis Suarez, along with Riqui Puig and Cucho Hernandez, are among the top candidates vying for roster spots.

The squad will feature one goalkeeper, one right back, two center backs, one left back, one defensive midfielder, two attacking midfielders, and three forwards/wingers. Votes will be cast in a 4-1-2-3 formation, with selections involving MLS players, fans, and media, each group representing one-third of the total vote.

Additionally, Columbus Crew head coach Wilfried Nancy, who will manage the MLS All-Stars in July, will select twelve players. MLS Commissioner Don Garber will also select two players to complete the roster.

According to Goal, players must have appeared in at least 50 percent of their club’s matches this season by May 13 to qualify for the 2024 MLS All-Star ballot. However, players not meeting this criterion can still be selected by Coach Nancy or the Commissioner.

The 2024 MLS All-Star game is set for July 24 in Columbus, Ohio at Lower.com Field. Voting for the 26-man roster closes on Monday, June 10.

This confirms that the Uruguayan striker is set to continue playing in La Liga rather than joining Juventus in Italy.

Barcelona said that Atletico had agreed to pay six million euros for Suarez, who left his last training session in tears on Wednesday having been told over the summer that he was no longer required by new coach Ronald Koeman.

Since joining Barca from Liverpool in 2014, Suarez has won a host of trophies, including the 2015 Champions League and four Liga titles.
