    Philanthropist donates wrappers to 100 widows in Nasarawa State

    Mr Peter Enna, a philanthropist has donated assorted wrappers to 100 widows in Nassarawa-Eggon and Lafia Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Nasarawa State.

    Speaking at a ceremony to present the items to the beneficiaries on Saturday in Lafia, the donor said he has decided to put smiles in the faces of the vulnerable at the beginning of a brand new year.

    He also donated Maggi cube and Sault to all the 100 windows.

    He explained that this is the tenth times he is distributing the items to the vulnerable to give them a reason to go on with life.

    He added that the support would also go a long way to enable them look after themselves and the children their deceased husbands left behind.

    “This gesture is part of my contribution to give back to the society toward making it conducive for all to live irrespective of financial or social status.

    “I stated this around 2011, ten years ago when I saw the need to thank God for what he has been doing for me and the entire family by sharing with the needy.

    “Our parents give birth to ten of us and we are all alive and our parents are alive as well, so we needed to thank God,” Mr Enna added.

    He said they entire family had also offered a Thanksgiving at the Church to appreciate God for keeping them alive throughout 2021 to see 2022.

    Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mrs Christina Haniba, a widow from Kagbu community of Nassarawa-Eggon LGA expressed gratitude for the gesture adding that, it would help them greatly.

    Mrs Christiana Haniba added that it means a lot to them to receive such gesture at the beginning of the year that things are difficult and pray God to bless the donor.

    She therefore appealed to other spirited individuals to always support the vulnerable especially widows and orphans to make there lives worthwhile.

    Yuletide: Lawmaker Donates Food items, Gifts to Constituents, Widows

    The Lawmaker representing Afijio State Constituency, Hon Seyi Adisa has donated food items to members of his constituency, including widows.

    Adisa, distributed the items on Monday, at his constituency office, with members of his constituency in attendance.

    Hon. Adisa, who oversaw the distribution of the items, stated it was part of the end-of-the-year activities aimed at supporting families.

    The lawmaker was also joined by his wife, Mrs. Tolu Adisa, who gave out special packages to a separate set of One-hundred widows.

    He used the opportunity to assure the people of more dividends coming in the new year, adding that his office intends to embark on more people-oriented projects that will improve the standard of living in the constituency.

    As part of activities marking the end of year, a Civil Society Organisation, Save Nigeria Movement has donated grinding machines to 25 widows as well as given cash donations to 100 widows as start up grants for dry season farming of vegetables.

    Presenting the donations in makurdi the Benue state capital, leader of the CSO, Bishop Abel King said the gesture was to mark the second anniversary as well honor the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for it’s commitment to corporate responsibilities.

    He explained that the civil society was pleased with the excellent external relations the bank has promoted in recent times adding that such is what is expected of every public institution to promote public trust between citizens and government.

    “The deputy governor of corporate affairs department has dutifully implemented the apex bank’s corporate reforms in line with the mandate of the CBN governor.

    “This is the only time in the history of the country that the civil society has access to books and transactions going on in the CBN for public scrutiny. Nigerians couldn’t have asked for more accountability and transparency such as shown by the CBN corporate affairs department.

    “We are are reaching out to the widows as a mark of honor to further encourage and commit the CBN to do more, knowing that Nigerians appreciate their sacrifice at all times.

    “We are proud of the opportunity to share with the widows as a testimony to the good social works of the apex bank.

    “This gesture also symbolizes the CBN policy of empoweing the most common Nigerians as shown in the various interventions implemented by the bank particularly, the recent COVID-19 household facility as well the SMEs packages”, the CSO noted.

    It further said the civil society task force will continue to work with the corporate department and at the same time hold the bank to task on issues that will engender positive impact to ordinary Nigerians and boost the the economy in line with the CBN ultimate goal.

    Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mrs Terna Atule said she was thankful to the organization and prayed for the CBN leadership to continue to inspire more of such activities so that more less privileged will benefit from it.

    As part of peace, forgiveness and reconciliation among victims of Southern kaduna ethno-religious crisis and vengeance attack, Katrine and Marwanatu, two bereaved Christian and muslims widows who lost their husbands and childrens, homes and property shared their grieves with the sole aim to forgive those that killed their loves once and decided to live together.
    Apart from sharing and forgiven, the duo are also spreading the gospel of forgiveness and begining for recounciliation for people to live in peace and harmony and to share their testimony for the Importance of living together without any kind of intimidation to promote Christian-Muslims relationship in the country.Marwanatu Abubakar, a resident of popular volatile Kasuwar Magani in Southern kaduna, shared her experience the during monthly peace journalism conference organize by Interfaith Mediation Centre, IMC, in kaduna and supported by Mercy Corp.Haj. Abubakar told newsmen that some group of well equipped  youth from no where came into their house burned the  home  and killed her husband,,According to her the group of young people killed the husband in such a gruesome manner that would to remember in memory but has forgotten them.She said the crisis in southern kaduna has cause  a serious set back  that has affected peace stability, education, economy infractions and increase insecurity challenges.
    Confirmed that Kasuwan Magani was known for peace and peaceful community as muslims and Christians have been living together irrespective of religious different but as brother and sisters in the Northern region, many years without any forms of threat and insecurity problems.Marwanatu said, she has forgiven all those that killed her husband and burned their house, while calling on every victims of southern kaduna attacks to equally forgive those that killed their love ones for peace and unity and for the progress of the Nation.While calling on state and federal government to equally provide adequate security, she then called on residents to remember the day of resurrection, She called on southern kaduna youth to shun all forms of violence and embrace peace,
    Accordingly, narrating her experience Katrine Benard , Christian woman, equally stated how she lost her husband and childrens at the same gangs attack of kasuwar magani the same manner in same day.
    While she explained in detail how the killers came to her house and killed her husband who was ill and her daughter the same day, Kathrine said she has forgiven those that killed her husband and her daughter. Kathrine chooses to spread the gospel of forgiveness and reconciliation among all  the victims of Southern kaduna
    The two bereave women after losing their husbands and some of the their childrens are now staying in a rented house, thought not without challengesOne of the greatest being lack of food and skill to take care of the remaning orphans.

    As they continued to spread the gospel of peace and forgiveness, they equally appealed to state and federal government, corporate organization and wealthy individual to support them morally and financially on ways to take care of their remaining rescue children. The call for support was colloborated by the Co-founder of IMC Dr Nuraini Ashafa.
