Tension in Zamfara as IDPs engage in violent protest

Tension has reached feverish pitch in Tsafe town of Zamfara State as Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) taking refuge in the area have blocked all entrances and exits of the town calling for intervention from authorities to do the needful in containing the criminal activities in the State, particularly the unabated killings of innocent citizens.

Travellers along the road which is the major road linking Zamfara to Zaria/Kaduna/Kano and Sokoto/Kebbi are on standstill.

Though Security agencies are trying to control the Protest which has proved daunting considering the gravity of the situation.

Already a total of nineteen vehicles parked within the local government secretariat were destroyed, with most of them almost razed to ashes.
